|St. George's Island Literature|
A number of writers have been influenced by this tiny island. The nineteenth century saw Wilkie Collins write a short story about 'The Rats of Looe Island', and the twentieth century saw Evelyn E. Atkins write two highly acclaimed books about her life on the island. The first, 'We Bought an Island', tells the tale of how she came to live on St.George's Island in the early 1960's. The second, 'Tales from our Cornish Island', is a plethora of island-life anecdotes.
