Artistic Engagement

My artistic engagement emerges from a life in composition, digital creativity and conceptual experimentation.

My own compositional work — from early post-minimalist pieces through to recent projects such as Frog Fizzles and digital heritage collaborations — has consistently explored systems, constraint, pattern and alternative modes of listening. These concerns frequently inform my advisory and collaborative work with artists and organisations.

I have advised arts organisations, ensembles, cultural institutions and independent artists on:

  • Creative strategy
  • Funding applications
  • Audience development
  • Digital practice
  • Conceptual framing
  • Accessibility in artistic production

I am especially interested in practices that:

  • Work rigorously with constraint
  • Invite alternative sensory engagement
  • Rethink authorship and participation
  • Integrate artistic structure with lived experience

Projects such as Frog Fizzles demonstrate how compositional systems can become participatory and accessible without sacrificing formal integrity — an approach I bring into artistic dialogue and collaboration.

My role is often to clarify structure, sharpen conceptual coherence and strengthen the internal logic of a project.
